Indie Bookstore Feature: Weird Providence & Symposium Books

Yesterday, I had a fun morning/afternoon walking around Providence with my husband. I love how the city is a blend of new and old with gorgeous architecture and unique buildings around every corner. The weather was perfect, and we ate some delicious food and visited the most amazing shops, including two beautiful bookstores.

Weird Providence was such a wonderful treat — incredible horror/sci-fi/fantasy/weird fiction selection (including fantastic indie horror rep!) and one of the kindest, most knowledgeable and helpful booksellers I’ve ever encountered. It was so much fun to gush about books with a fellow horror lover, and they even took the time to write down a list of additional bookshops that I’ll be saving for future visits. If you’re ever in the area, Weird Providence is a must-visit!

We also visited Symposium Books, a huge, gorgeous bookshop packed to the rafters with a wide variety of books and literary items, which also had a wonderful gothic/horror selection in addition to a huge fiction section. Incredible titles as far as the eye could see!

I picked up the three Tenebrous Press titles above at Weird Providence (two of which were bookseller recs), and I'm really looking forward to reading them!

Do you have any vacation days planned this summer, and will you be visiting any new or new-to-you bookstores?
