Book Review (Short Story): Eleven by Briana Morgan
"One chance. One moment. One last kiss. That was what she wanted. She would go through hell or whatever horror lay ahead for the chance to see her girlfriend again."
📚
Eleven is a suspenseful, tension-fueled short horror story where the reader goes on a cryptic, 11-mile car ride with protagonist Kayla, who is following the rules of a mysterious Internet game with the hope of seeing her deceased girlfriend, Alexis, one more time. Suspense builds as each mile passes and strange, sinister happenings plague the drive, ratcheting up the terror and creep factor until the memorable and shocking conclusion.
Though only 18 pages in digital format, this short story does a wonderful job of conveying key information, giving the reader enough to have an idea of what's happening, but keeping enough shadowy and vague to leave the reader deliciously haunted and wanting more. This is a spooky, fun, quick, and awesome read that makes me really excited to read more of Briana Morgan's work.
